The staff of the Tidewater Sharks is committed to its players and has developed a College Assistance program "CAP" to provide guidance and contacts for players that are on path to play college soccer. Most clubs advertise assistance for their players but don't deliver as they are too busy with other initiatives. The Sharks staff will put together a profile, a progressive program and pathway for players but will look to the player to be proactive and put in the work required to reach their goals.
The key for college bound players is to start early by setting realistic goals and preparing their bodies and mind for the journey to become a college player. The program introduces and educates young players on the NCAA and its rules, time management, nutrition, appropriate fitness, academic achievement with a constant focus on sharpening technical skills and broadening tactical understanding of high level soccer.
